Orchard Farm

“All fruits are equal, but some fruits are more equal than others.”

With that one sweeping statement, Choqita, leader of the bananas and plantains, seized power and took control of the lemons and other fruits to proclaim the first Banana Republic.

However, some things just are not meant to be. Once Choqita had cemented control over the farm, it would not be long before the lemons and other fruits rebelled.

They were led by Volks and Wagen, two partisans who had seen and survived a war that had engulfed the whole fruit world many decades ago. With the blessings of their guardian angel and the original lemon simply known as ‘The Beetle’, they set about stirring the other fruits to revolt, coining a patriotic song that has become the stuff of legend among all in the fruit world.

“Fruits of the orchard, fruits of the farm,

Fruits of every land and clime,

Listen to my prophecy,

Of a golden future time.”

While the rebellion was swift, many a fruit was lost to the cause; sliced up, turned into pulp, or simply had its juices sucked out of them. But, like all things in life, there is always dessert after a meal.

Years later, while Choqita continues to wield considerable power over her subjects in the Banana Republic, the lemons and other fruits have gone on to start their farm. And while there is an uneasy truce in the fruit world, it will not be long before there is another uprising.

After all, it is not just Choqito, Volks, and Wagen who know and understand that leadership is never, ever, a pleasure. If you make a wrong decision, my fruits, then where should we be?
